A typical data presentation program, ExamNotes,
is shown in Figure 5. The program uses both NFS and X, so it can display
on any other workstation that supports X. In addition to displaying
images, the program allows notes, both voice and data, to be attached
to the image. The face of the Analyst making the note appears on the
note. The voice message and the notes become part of the permanent
file. This feature allows information to be passed:
- from the Clerk inspecting the arriving vehicle to the Supervisor
who will assign the examination to an Analyst
- and from the Supervisor to the selected Analyst performing the
examination.
In addition, the Analyst can provide a verbal autopsy during the examination
for later review or for the devanning supervisor if a physical inspection
occurs.
